Trigger by Joe Sugarman summary is a short review of the book that any entrepreneur, sider hustlers, sales person or marketer should get. This book is a classic and must read for anyone that is in sales and marketing. If you are a copywriter then you may have heard the name of Joe Sugarman and his other book The Adweek Copywriting Handbook: The Ultimate Guide to Writing Powerful Advertising and Marketing Copy from One of America’s Top Copywriters. This book Triggers: 30 Sales Tools You Can Use To Control the mind of Your Prospect to Motivate, Influence and Persuade is another one to add to your library. As the title suggests the book lists 30 sales triggers that Joe has discovered and used over the years. Each chapter is a new trigger that comes with a story and use case for the technique. Although some of the examples are dated with a little imagination. The reader should be able to take the trigger and apply it to their situation.
Despite some of the examples of the Trigger in use being dated. The stories and use cases of the trigger in the book are entertaining reads that simply examplian how Joe Sugarman was able to gain the reputation as America’s Top Copywriter. It also shows you how one of Joe’s Triggers Authority has helped him beat out his competition of other sales people and copywriters. The book is designed so you don’t have to read it straight though. You can skip around in this book and focus on the Trigger you want to use first in your marketing or sales process. I do recommend that you read the book straight through first before skipping around. It is up to you.
Unfortunately there is no audio version of this book available for purchase. You can get the Kindle or physical copy from Amazon. As I highly recommend this book. I have posted my Amazon links for you to purchase it. I own both Kindle and Physical copies of the book so I can review it on the go or at home.
I did find a badly done audio read of the book on Youtube but listen at your own risk as the audio is not good.
I give this book a 5 out of 5 rating for its value and getting straight to the point without much fluff that many business books suffer from. If you can get over the old school references from an age we no longer live in I believe there are many triggers that most solopreneurs who know little to nothing about sales can pick up and apply to their business.
Out of the 30 Triggers I have my personal top 5 list that you can get from the PDF version I have of this review. If you are someone looking to improve your sales skills or get what I think are some top tips to boost the sales of your side project then you will want to download the PDF. I hope that you enjoyed reading Triggers by Joe Sugarman summary.
